These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the WizeUp application and website operated by WizeUp (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using WizeUp, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WizeUp, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

WizeUp is an AI-powered news verification platform that delivers fact-checked news briefings into group chat rooms. The service includes:

  • AI-powered news rooms with verified briefings.
  • Cross-source verification against 3+ independent publications.
  • End-to-end encrypted group conversations.
  • Share cards, audio briefings, and related features.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use WizeUp.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

  • WizeUp offers free and paid subscription tiers.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are provided in accordance with applicable law.
  • We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days’ notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Share content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers.
  • Use automated means to access the service without our permission.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

  • Your content: You retain ownership of content you create and share within WizeUp. You grant us a limited license to display and distribute your content within the service.
  • Our content: WizeUp’s AI-generated briefings, verification data, and platform design are our intellectual property. You may share verified story cards through the built-in sharing features but may not reproduce or redistribute our content at scale without permission.
  • News sources: All news content is attributed to its original source. WizeUp does not claim ownership of third-party news content.

7. AI-Generated Content

  • WizeUp uses artificial intelligence to curate, verify, and summarize news stories.
  • AI-generated briefings are based on information from third-party sources and are provided for informational purposes only.
  • While we strive for accuracy through multi-source verification, we do not guarantee that all information is error-free.
  • AI-generated content should not be considered professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise).

8. Privacy and Encryption

  • All room conversations are end-to-end encrypted.
  • We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

WizeUp is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WizeUp shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
